Description

We pick you up at your place of residence in Mauritius - hotel, bungalow, apartment or cruise ship - and drive you to the hiking spot in Henrietta. The hike starts through a walk of 400 meters through sugar cane fields. Reaching the woods, the hike starts by following the river enveloped in lush vegetation - safe from any dangerous creatures as there are none in Mauritius. At an interval of 600 meters you come across the Tamarind waterfalls: there are up to 12 of them, each more spectacular than the other. You go close to the waterfalls, behind them and underneath them: a truly sensational experience. You are offered the possibility to jump from the waterfalls into ponds, where you enjoy a refreshing dip in the crystal clear flowing river water. You can simply laze down at one of the numerous pleasant spot to relax and contemplate in the exceptionally pleasant surroundings. As a welcome bonus, there are a few ponds in which you place your feet to avail yourself of a fish spa, totally free of charge. Meanwhile, as you explore the waterfalls, the guide explains about the rich variety of plants and species that live in this unique ecosystem like the waterlilies. At each waterfall, you admire wonderful views of the landscape. You will take memorable pictures and clips of the scenes and the mind-boggling optical illusions made possible by the exceptional environment. The number of waterfalls you visit will depend on the time. Generally, guests are happy with the first 5 to 7 ones as these they fulfill their day to great satisfaction. Climbing back, it's an opportunity to taste some seasonal fruits or sugarcane. You are then driven back after a memorable day discovering the Tamarind Falls at Henrietta, Mauritius.
