There are two types of Dolphins in the sea of Mauritius, namely the Common Bottlenose Dolphins which live in large groups of 10 to 100 dolphins and Spinner Dolphins which live in small groups; male and female live separately, except during breeding period.

You also have a 60% chance to encounter whales during your trip. Humpback Whales which weigh around 36,000 kg and between 12 to 16 meters in length are observed on the Mauritian coast from late June to early November (winter season). Sperm Whales can be seen all year around in Mauritius.
