PAKBO
The restaurant's decor lives up to its name, all decked up in white with blue stripes as the sailors at sea. The look is authentic and original with a passenger boat hanging on the ceiling, fishing net, and little anchors as well as lifebuoys hanging on the four walls of the restaurant.
If you are staying or are on a stroll in Flic en Flac be sure not to miss lunch or dinner at Pakbo. It is located on the leftside of the road in a small complex when you are heading to Flic en Flac beach. Don't let yourself be fooled by the roadside location, the food and service are both brilliant.
There is a small and cosy lounge at the entrance where you may enjoy your cocktails. There is both outside and inside seatings. The hosts Kevin and Malini will see to it that you get the best food and service while visiting them. They are very attentive to each and every guest.
The menu ranges from seafood (of course we are on an island, let's make the most of it), meat (lamb & beef) to veg dishes. You will surely be tempted by the gambas (prawns) which are fresh and served generously be it grilled, in butter&garlic sauce or cocktail. The Mauritian style curries (soup, lamb, octopus, fish, chicken) will appeal to you as well or simply the traditional octopus salad, fish filet or beef steak.
As suggested by many guests don't miss their 'Thai Magic Bowl' (one of the best Thai currys you'll ever taste). Pizzas as well are served. All accompanied by cool summer (as it's summer all year round in Mauritius) cocktails to quench your thirst!
