Oceane Cruises

Cruise Catamaran Cruise
Oceane Cruises has a fleet of 8 high quality catamarans providing trips both on the East (Eco tours including visits to the Valley of Ferney and Ile aux Aigrettes) and West Coast (sunset cruises in the bay of Black River which is the best spot to admire the sunset). The different catamarans can accommodate from 18 to 34 passengers.

Discover Mauritius differently aboard Oceane Cruises’ catamarans in full comfort and safety in the hands of their experienced skippers. There is no age limit to enjoy the cruises. With family or with friends, an outing with Océane always brings memorable moments.

The large front decks of catamarans allow hardcore sunbathers to enjoy the sun at ease. Furthermore the spacious cabins and covered decks at the back offer large refreshing areas, to keep the children away from UV rays and to relax in the shade, without sacrificing the joys of sailing.

As for equipment, the crew will offer, at swimming time, buoys and a range of snorkeling equipment for adults and children. Each boat is also equipped with life jackets of various sizes.

The different trips offered by Oceane Cruises are as follows:
  1. Ecotour
Enjoy a combined experience at sea and inland with this Ecotour. Sailing across the South East coast you will have 2 stopovers namely at the Valley of Ferney in Ferney Grand Port and Ile aux Aigrettes in the bay of Mahebourg.

First stop: The Valley of Ferney

You will be able to get off the boat and explore a natural reserve of 200-hectare with a unique biodiversity while trekking through the forest accompanied by a guide. The valley of Ferney is an indigenous forest where efforts are being made to preserve Mauritius' endemic flora. It is home to over 100 plant species and a wide variety of animals including two rare endemic birds – the Pink Pigeon and Echo Parakeet. Many conservation projects are ongoing in the valley like cultivation of endemic plants, a nursery for indigenous plants and the rehabilitation of land tortoises to re-establish the herbivorous dynamics in the reserve.

Second stop: Ile aux Aigrettes

Ile aux Aigrettes is an islet in the bay of Mahebourg maintained by the Mauritian Wildlife Foundation for the preservation of Mauritius' endemic fauna and flora. Visitors are accompanied by guides through the natural reserve – situated about 800m from the mainland’s coastline to discover an ebony forest home to the local fauna: the Mauritian gecko, the Pink Pigeon, the Telfair skink (still endangered today) and the giant Aldabra tortoise, which was introduced to replace Mauritius’ two endemic species of land tortoise, now officially extinct. It also serves as a nursery for thousands of young plants. In the past the islet was also home to the Dodo. You might also catch a glimpse of the Mauritian Kestrel, saved from extinction and roaming free in the island’s forest. Ile aux Aigrettes is also a particularly beautiful swimming and snorkeling spot.
  1. Sunset Cruises
The West Coast of the island is famous for its gorgeous sunset, as hues of red, orange and pink blend to paint a magnificent landscape. Hop on board Océane's cruises to enjoy this magnificent view through its sunset cruises. Passengers meet at 4.30 PM on the bay of Black River, afterwards the boat sets off for a peaceful and relaxing evening out. For those who want to extend their pleasure with a delicious dinner, you may stay onboard. It's a magical night that stretches out to 10.00 PM while local music is played on deck.
  1. Wedding & Honeymoon
Always dreamt of a unique place to celebrate your wedding / honeymoon? Océane cruises will work to make this day with your loved one an unforgettable, cherished memory through the best logistics to support the plans set out by your wedding planner and covering legal aspects of the event. On this occasion the catamaran may be beautifully decorated in the colour theme of your choice. The team can also provide a three-piece band for some romantic entertainment, catering services with champagne and canapés after the ceremony and even a photographer to snap memories of this unique moment. Nothing more romantic than exchanging vows over turquoise Mauritian waters under the warm sun.

You may choose an intimate setting for your special day with a maximum of twenty guests on board your catamaran… or you might want a bigger celebration and book a few boats from our fleet to accommodate a lavish party on the water.
