Le Sapin has always been a favorite restaurant of mine for a long time. My favorites have always been the crispy calamari and the saffron octopus. The food on my last visit was good, but honestly, it was much tastier before. I'm really hoping the quality picks up again soon!
The food was good. The sparkling water was overpriced 5x original store price. What threw me off was that the chef was smoking nearby the restaurant entrance and batteries (yes, batteries!) and cigarettes butts were discarded just outside our table on the ground! See attached.
Good food, service can be better. Reasonably priced
I reserved a table for 14 guests three weeks ago to celebrate my son's birthday, marking my first visit to Le Sapin d'Or , marking my first visit to this restaurant after reading numerous positive reviews. I was thoroughly impressed with the service, which was exceptional from beginning to end. The food was delicious, and the portion sizes were reasonable. Despite the restaurant being busy around 7 PM, the attentive and responsive staff ensured we were well taken care of. The ambiance was vibrant and impeccably clean, featuring a professional layout. We chose a non-vegetarian comprehensive package that included a selection of starters, main courses, and desserts, which we pre-ordered a week in advance due to our size of guests . The dishes were flavourful, and the desserts were particularly delightful. However, I must mention a minor criticism: despite the fixed cost of just over Rs 1400 per person, the food was served based on individual requests rather than predetermined portions. This meant that if we were not proactive in asking for more, we risked receiving less food than needed, as not everyone at the table had the same appetite. In hindsight, it might have been more effective and economical to select our dishes individually from the menu on the day . However,overall, we enjoyed our experience and a worthwhile visit with the family or friends.
