La Clef des Champs

Creole French

Very attached to the Mauritian terroir, La Clef des Champs also proposes typical Mauritian dishes

La Clef des Champs is a gastronomic restaurant situated in Floréal, not far from a highly diplomatic residential area which hosts a number of embassies (British, French and American embassies among others). The greatness of this place is felt as soon as you enter the premises.

The restaurant which celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2015, has established itself as a reference in terms of gourmet cuisine and has had the privilege of welcoming a large number of guests ranging from international as well as Mauritian personalities, members of the diplomatic corps to businessmen, tourists, families and groups of friends through these past years. The restaurant has successfully managed to combine elegance, chic and a homely feeling in its cuisine, décor and atmosphere.

Jacqueline Dalais is a master of what she does, Chef and owner of this fantastic place, she has succeeded in making her cuisine shine both nationally and internationally. The highlight of the menu proposed at the restaurant is that it is greatly inspired by recipes of yesteryear. Very attached to the Mauritian terroir, La Clef des Champs also proposes typical Mauritian dishes. It is certainly one of the best gastronomy food on the island and also offers a subtle blend of traditional French cuisine with local specialities.

The staff, a crew of about 60 people share the same passion for good taste and impeccable service with the owner. Mrs Dalais welcomes and/or greets the guests in person and can be your host to guide you during this culinary experience. As such the service proposed is discreet and personalized in a warm and friendly atmosphere. For example in some instances restaurant staffs are so much well acquainted with regular customers that they can satisfy their needs prior to their order. They will surely make you feel at ease. Their distinguishing quality is their professionalism and attention to detail.

Jacqueline Dalais has been awarded the Women's Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2010, the Laurier d'Or in International Gastronomy, and Auguste Escoffie , as well as the honorary French decoration of Chevalier des Arts & Lettres.
