Every year there are 15 annual public holidays in Mauritius


Every year there are 15 annual public holidays in Mauritius which is announced by the Cabinet. 7 of the public holidays are fixed holidays which are 1st and 2nd January (New Year), 1st February (Abolition of Slavery), 12th March (National Day), 1st May (Labour Day), 2nd November (Arrival of Indentured Labourers) and 25th December (Christmas Day). The other 8 public holidays are for religious festivals which vary from year to year.
