モーリシャス中央銀行博物館は、訪問者にリッチなモーリシャスの歴史の別の側面を発見するユニークな機会を提供しています。ポートルイスのサー・ウィリアム・ニュートン通りにあるモーリシャス銀行ビルの1階に位置しています。博物館は、海外で鋳造された約500の工芸品を含む、著しいアーレイを展示しています。コインの収集、国外の植民地政府によって島で使用されるために鋳造された印象的なコイン、アラブ・ディナールやイギリス・インディアン・モヒュールなどの非常に珍しい金貨、銀貨、17世紀にオランダ・バタヴィア（現在のインドネシアのジャカルタ）から起源を持つタール（TA-EEL）、本物の写真ではなく単なる図面があるほど希少なコインなどがあります。モーリシャスで唯一鋳造された「ピアストル・デカン」は、フランスの外で鋳造され、植民地で使用された唯一のコインでもあります。
