RESTAURANTS & BARS

There are two restaurants at the Veranda Paul et Virginie Hotel & Spa.

The Isle de France is the main restaurant and it has a superb view overlooking the pool and the sea. It serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and both Mauritian and international cuisine are on offer. You can choose the buffet or table d’hote.

The other restaurant, the Le Saint Geran, is open for lunch and for dinner. It serves the signature dishes of the Veranda resorts, as well as having an extensive seafood menu. Note that it is closed on sunday evenings.

There is one bar which is open from 11 a.m. until 11.30 p.m. It is called Poudre D’or and has fantastic views of the Grand-Gaube lagoon. Light lunches are served here as well as afternoon crepes. Look forward to enjoying local music and shows here in the evenings.  

SPA

If you’re in the need of pampering, head to the Seven Colours Wellness Spa. There are three spa treatment rooms, 1 jetted shower, and nail care services. Here modern techniques are combined with ancient customs. All the essential oils that are used throughout the treatments are pure and natural so be prepared to come out of here feeling rejuvenated.

GOLF

At an extra cost, you are welcome to use The Heritage Golf Course which is based on the south of the island. It is situated between spectacular mountains and a stunning turquoise-blue lagoon. It is an 18-hole course covering 6948 metres in length. The Heritage Golf Course has won the title of ‘Best golf course in the Indian Ocean’ for four years running from 2014. If you enjoy playing golf, this is an experience not to be missed.

ACTIVITIES

Veranda Paul et Virginie hotel is heaven for water enthusiasts. There are two swimming pools on site, one an infinity pool which looks out to sea. This is a very romantic place to sit as the sun goes down.

There is also a small beach in front of the hotel which has around 20 chairs.

Free activities at sea include windsurfing, kayaking, stand-up paddle, snorkelling, dinghy sailing, and paddle boats. At an extra charge, you can go diving, fishing, kite surfing, and water-skiing. There are seaplanes to take a ride on, a glass bottom boat, and a catamaran.

If you prefer to keep your feet firmly on the ground, try out the tennis courts or play petanque, a type of bowls.

For those who enjoy gym activities, there is a fitness centre on site.

OTHER FACILITIES

There is free Wi-Fi at the hotel for those who want to keep in touch with the outside world.

If you fancy exploring, take the shuttle bus to Grand Baie which is a lively seaside village with interesting restaurants and a natural harbour. If you enjoy to shop there are plenty of fashion and craft shops here.

The fisherman’s village of Grand-Gaube is also well worth visiting. Wandering down the narrow lanes, you will be able to experience creole culture at its’ finest and hear Kreol being spoken.
