La Preneuse is a small public beach located near Tamarin Bay.  As a less crowded beach than those at Flic en Flac, or Tamarin Bay, this is a great place to watch romantic sunset.

The dense trees in the well maintained garden just before the beach provide shade from the direct sunlight on this beach. With clear waters and offshore coral reefs close to the coast, snorkeling is easily accessible.

If you love swimming, the south side of the main entrance of the island is the best place to explore the sparkling waters but be aware of the strong currents.
For a glimpse of the history of Mauritius, explore the old cannons on the beach and the Martello Tower in the parking area.
