Description
Begin your day with a comfortable pickup from your hotel, villa or apartment and enjoy a relaxing drive toward the southwest of Mauritius, a region known for its dramatic landscapes, volcanic valleys and peaceful coastal scenery.
Your discovery begins at the Chamarel Geopark, where you will visit both Chamarel Waterfall and the Seven Coloured Earth. Start at the waterfall viewpoint and admire the powerful cascade dropping into a deep green valley surrounded by forest. Then continue inside the same park to the Seven Coloured Earth, a volcanic formation with dunes in shades of red, violet, brown and ochre. Walk along the viewing platform, enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and visit the giant tortoise area nearby. Together, these two landmarks create one of the most impressive natural highlights of south Mauritius.
Your next stop is the Rhumerie de Chamarel, a beautifully designed distillery among the hills of Chamarel. Enjoy a guided visit where you will learn about the production of high quality Mauritian rum made from freshly harvested sugarcane. Walk through the distillation rooms, discover fermentation techniques and taste several rum varieties produced on site.
After a morning filled with nature and culture, your driver will take you to La Gaulette for an included lunch at a welcoming local restaurant. Enjoy Mauritian Creole dishes prepared with fresh ingredients. After booking, we will contact you to choose your preferred meal option. This allows the kitchen to prepare in advance so your lunch is served smoothly and without waiting.
In the afternoon, continue toward the UNESCO Le Morne Heritage Monument. This meaningful site honors the cultural history of the region and offers peaceful views of the majestic Le Morne Brabant rising above the lagoon. Walk around the monument, enjoy the open space and capture memorable photos of the mountain and coastline.
A short drive along the coastal road then brings you to the famous Macondé Viewpoint, set on a dramatic curve carved into volcanic rock. Climb the small staircase for sweeping views of the lagoon and cliffs. It is one of the most photographed stops in Mauritius and offers exceptional scenery.
Continue toward Baie du Cap lagoon, a calm and picturesque stretch of coastline where the blue water and peaceful setting create a beautiful moment by the sea. This short stop is ideal for relaxing photos before beginning the drive back.
At the end of the day, sit back and relax as your driver brings you back to your accommodation. You will return with wonderful memories, beautiful photos and a deeper appreciation of the natural and cultural charm of south Mauritius.
This tour is perfect for visitors who want a balanced and scenic day combining waterfalls, volcanic landscapes, rum tasting, coastal viewpoints and a delicious Creole lunch in a local village.
