Description
This half-day hike takes place in Black River Gorges National Park, located in the south west of Mauritius. The park protects the island’s remaining endemic flora and fauna and covers 3.5% of Mauritius’ total land area.
An expert guide leads a 3-4 hour hike of medium difficulty, offering panoramic views and changing micro-climates. Wildlife sightings may include pink pigeons, Mauritian kestrels, and echo parakeets. The park also features rare endemic trees such as the black ebony.
The hike concludes with an opportunity to swim in a river before returning.
