Description

Discover Amber Island from the water and on land as you paddle across the blue waters of the lagoon. The islet is known for its rich flora which creates shady waterways perfect for exploring by kayak, including the mangroves. Tour the island with a guide and learn more about its history. Start off with a 15-minute kayak expedition from the northern coast of Mauritius (the embarkation point is Bain De Rosnay beach) towards Amber Island. During the paddle, you have the opportunity to explore a floating mangrove forest by kayak. Upon reaching Amber Island, join a guided tour of the isle which also includes a nature walk, and see ruins dating back to 1750. Before heading back to shore, swim in the crystalline waters of Ilot Bernache or stay dry and just take in the beautiful views.
