The Vibe
Mystery, laughter, and a touch of madness!
Get ready for a riot of laughter with Léritaz Gran Mama, a hilarious Mauritian comedy where ghosts, greed, and family chaos collide under one creaky roof!
After years abroad, Billy (played by Alexandre Martin) returns to his village with his wife to claim his late grandmother’s inheritance — but what he finds is far from peaceful. The old house hides a secret treasure, noisy workers with sticky fingers, a fake ghost hunter, and a wife with secrets of her own. Add a few mischievous spirits to the mix, and you’ve got a house party that’s completely out of control! Between misunderstandings, supernatural pranks, and side-splitting revelations, Léritaz Gran Mama delivers two hours of pure laughter, witty dialogue, and authentic Mauritian humour.
The Story
Billy and his wife come home to restore Grandma’s house, now in ruins. As they start renovations, Billy finds an old letter revealing the existence of a hidden treasure that only he can uncover. But word spreads quickly. Soon, the once-quiet house becomes a circus of characters — from a drunk caretaker to scheming workers, a jealous spouse plotting her escape, and a con artist posing as a ghostbuster. To top it all off, the house is haunted by prankster spirits who seem to have their own plans! A whirlwind of mischief, mystery, and mayhem, this play perfectly captures the essence of Mauritian humour — blending cultural wit, fast-paced comedy, and a touch of the supernatural.
