Our 8-day stay at Sugar Beach at the end of June was an absolute dream. The resort was incredible and lovingly maintained, the food was delicious, the staff was friendly, attentive and always ready to assist you. The beach was fantastic. A very special thank you goes to Mr. Suresh, our driver on our tour through southern Mauritius, who really went out of his way to make it a special experience. A big thank you also goes to Anuradha, who surprised my sister and me with a delicious cake for our upcoming birthday. Another highlight (something I’ve never seen anywhere else): the perfume workshop with Akhtar, where we got to make our own perfume to take back home with us. I can wholeheartedly recommend Sugar Beach. We’ll definitely be back! (Note: This is not a duplicate post of Elvira's review - we're twins.)
Sugar Beach delivers a phenomenal, upscale Mauritian getaway. It would easily be a flawless 5-star experience if the dining had just a little more punch. What Makes It Special: Stellar Service: The staff is incredibly warm, attentive, and welcoming from check-in to check-out. Beautiful Rooms: Lovely, comfortable accommodations paired with gorgeous, direct sea views. Amazing Venue & Beach: The property grounds are stunning, and the beach is absolute paradise with pristine sand and clear water. The Only Opportunity: The Food: While the dining is decent, the flavors lean a bit mild and bland. A little more local culinary excitement would easily push this resort into absolute perfection. An incredible stay with world-class hospitality and views. Highly recommended!
While the resort itself has some of the best beach access, it’s really the staff who make this place feel truly luxurious. Everything is taken care of, and the level of service stands out. A special shoutout to Assistant Manager Anuradha. Met on a chance encounter and I happened to mention that we were visiting ahead of my partner’s birthday, and she went above and beyond—arranging wine and a (lactose-free) cake in our room. That kind of attention to detail really made the stay memorable. I made a mistake while finalising payment and did not notice that I was overcharged. Would have been completely oblivious to it, but the team reached out even after I had left informing me of my mistake and refunded the money! Talk about doing the right thing!! The only tip I’d give is to plan your activities in advance. The concierge team is super helpful, and there are plenty of nature experiences to enjoy. Definitely recommend.
We spent five amazing days at Sugar Beach for our honeymoon. It couldn't have been better. It's a very nice place, in a very good location at Flic en Flac, what made possible to visit from there Le Morne, la Grand Baie and get around the western coast os Mauritius. The atmosphere is really amazing, with lots of services, amenities and activities to do needless to leave the hotel. Its location made us possible to see one of the most stunning sunsets we've ever seen. The rooms were really amazing, big, comfortable, very quiet and calm and we felt really really well there. Both the rooms and the whole hotel was extremely clean. The buffet for breakfast and dinner, and the Buddha Bar as well, were very good, with great quality and a huge amount of options to choose. We really enjoyed it a lot. All the people working at the hotel was very polite and very nice making us spent a really great days, but specially, we'd like to thank Anuradha. She came to us one morning at breakfast time to check if everything was fine for us and to ask us if there was something she could do to make our stay even more pleasant. She took care of us, made our dream of having a room even closer to the beach possible by upgrading our booking with no charge and invited us on last evening to a special dinner by the sea to celebrate our honeymoon. Absolutely unforgettable. Anuradha made the difference for us and made our stay even more special. Sugar Beach is, with no hesitations, a perfect place to stay at Mauritius. We highly recommend it.
Excellent hotel with a fantastic beach. Big spacious room with beach access. The hotel is accommodates for babies as well, providing baby amenities such as steriliser, bottle warmer etc. which was really helpful during my stay. All the staff were really friendly and helpful and were great with kids. Big shoutout to the chef who cooked baby food for my daughter every night which was really helpful during my stay. Unfortunately did not get the head chef name and really grateful for this. Housekeeping team were excellent as well cleaning the room to a high standard. Shout out to Sharmilla who was cleaning my room during my stay and was really friendly. Overall excellent hotel, food delicious, excellent beach access and accommodating for guests with baby
