We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Shanti Guest House — it truly felt like the perfect start to our time in Mauritius. The garden is beautifully designed and invites you to slow down and relax. It creates such a peaceful, almost magical atmosphere. What really stood out to us, though, was the warm and familiar feeling of the place. You don’t feel like just another guest — it feels much more personal. Before arriving, we had only done a bit of research on what to do in Mauritius. As soon as we got there, we received great tips for the upcoming days — from amazing hikes and beautiful beaches to fantastic local restaurants. Everything was very authentic and not overly touristy, which we really appreciated. They also helped with restaurant reservations and offered transfers, which made everything super easy. We had a rental car, which we would definitely recommend in general for Mauritius, as it gives you the freedom to explore the island properly. For us, this was the perfect base to get a first real feeling for the island. The guest house itself is very clean, and the rooms are lovely. We stayed in a room facing the mountain at the back, which was nice and quiet. However, there are also rooms facing the garden that look absolutely beautiful — we will definitely choose one of those next time. Breakfast is simple but good and completely sufficient to start the day. One highlight for us was the barbecue, which is available for guests to use. We spent one evening grilling ourselves, which was a great experience — you get the fun part of cooking, and the less fun part (cleaning the grill 😊) is taken care of the next day.
Our stay at Shanti Ghar Guest House in Tamarin was absolutely wonderful! The setting is beautiful, with a lush garden full of palm trees and frangipani – it’s a real paradise where we felt so happy and relaxed. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The hosts are incredibly kind and helpful, making us feel truly at home from the moment we arrived. On our daughter's birthday, they gave her a lovely gift in the morning, which was such a thoughtful and sweet gesture. That same evening, they helped us grill a fish we had caught, making it a truly special day and a lovely experience. We highly recommend Shanti Ghar to everyone. If we ever return to Mauritius, we will definitely stay here again ❤️
This one of the nicest places we’ve ever stayed ! Such a lovely place, lovely family, lovely staff. We were lucky enough to spend Christmas here and we felt so welcome. Dont hesitate to book 🌴 🦤
I highly recommend this guest house. The owners and Pascale are extremely kind, always available to give advice and suggestions, yet never intrusive. There is a real sense of peace and serenity in the house; the environment is beautiful, well cared for, and guests are given the freedom to truly enjoy the place. I traveled with my family, and even my children, aged 9 and 11, were extremely happy. I would love to return to this place soon.
