The hotel is 4-star and caters just for adults. It’s a great place to come for an anniversary or your honeymoon. An all-inclusive package is on offer which means that you won’t have to worry about extra costs.
ROOMS
The hotel is reasonably large, with 182 rooms, but you still get the same degree of service that you would in a smaller hotel.
You can choose between a number of rooms; the garden view room, the seaside room, the seaview room, and the seaside deluxe. All have a furnished terrace or balcony.
In addition, there is the seaside whirlpool suite and the seaview whirlpool suite. Both are larger rooms and the first comes with a bathtub and the second with a Jacuzzi.
All rooms have a mini bar, a flat screen TV, and air conditioning.
RESTAURANTS & BARS
There are 3 restaurants to choose from at the Sensimar Lagoon Mauritius. The main restaurant is Le Benitier which serves a buffet at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You will find a mixture of local and international cuisine here.
If you are interested in having an Asian experience, head over to the Culinarium, where you can try out a wide range of Asian delicacies. This restaurant is just open for dinner.
If you want to take in the sounds and smells of the ocean, head over to Seabreeze, which is located on the beach. It serves lunch, afternoon tea, and dinner, and there is a special seafood menu twice a week.
There are 4 bars at the hotel, Wave, Seabreeze Bar, Bar Lounge, and the Banyan Bar. The Bar lounge offers light lunches as well as drinks. It has an outside area which overlooks the Anse la Raie lagoon, a romantic setting for pre-dinner drinks.
SPA
Are you in need of a little pampering? If so, head over to the spa where you can get massages, body care, and facials. Only natural products and essential oils are used in the treatments.
The spa has 4 treatment rooms, one sea-facing massage kiosk, a shower for hydro massage, and a hammam, or Turkish bath. Visit the spa for a relaxing experience which will leave you feeling rejuvenated.
ACTIVITIES
If you don’t want to spend your days just lounging in the sun, there is plenty to keep you occupied at the hotel.
If you are looking for land based activities, tennis, table tennis, petanque, volleyball, basketball, yoga, darts, and board games are all free. There is also a gym for those who want to work out.
If you love the water, you will find 3 swimming pools in the hotel where you can arrange to play aqua polo. The glass bottom boat, kayaking, peddle boats, snorkelling, and dinghies are all included in your stay.
At an extra cost, get the wind in your hair and go kite surfing, wind surfing, or stand-up paddle boarding. There is also a diving centre here with PADI instructors, so you know that you’ll be in safe hands.
This hotel also has a very unique interactive experience called Nauticaz. Its’ purpose is to educate people about the flora and fauna of the Anse la Raie lagoon and how important it is to protect it. This experience is great fun for both young and old. You will find that there is an aquarium, a laboratory, and a puppet theatre which has performances relating to the sea.
OTHER FACILITIES
There is free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel so you can keep in touch with the outside world if you need to.
There is a range of classes which are held in the hotel for the guests, for example, cocktail making and cooking classes. Be sure to check when these are running.
