Mon Choisy Lodge
There is enough space for each guest to enjoy a moment to themselves, while communal spaces are the perfect place to get together with the group and plan the day ahead.
ROOMS
The lodge is divided into two apartments, as well as three studios, creating a communal space that is still separated by individual rooms.
Guests who reside Downstairs will find one apartment measuring 80 square metres boasting two bedrooms, each kitted out with an air-conditioner. There is also a baby cot, mini safe as well as a kitchen where guests can enjoy local flavours in peace.
In the Upstairs area there is one apartment and three studios, each kitted out with an air-conditioner and the necessary amenities. The apartment is much the same as the downstairs, with two bedrooms, a kitchen and a dining room and lounge area. The studios, measuring 20 square metres each features a double bed or twin beds, an en-suite bathroom and balcony, ideal for catching the tropical sun.
RESTAURANTS
Being a self-catering lodge, Mon Choisy Lodge does not feature any on-site restaurants, however guests can visit a multitude of markets and local restaurants. The Port-Louis market, a mere 30 minutes away, is a colourful hive of activity bursting with local delicacies, produce and spices – the perfect place to pick up ingredients for a decadent dinner.
The biggest town on the coast, Grand Baie, is just 10 minutes away and boasts numerous restaurants where guests can go gourmet, local or laid back depending on their appetite.
ACTIVITIES
For those who want to spend a day at the lodge, the swimming pool is the perfect place to dip a toe, ad work on a tropical tan. If the sun doesn’t call, there is also a television with over 30 channels – ideal for a movie night in.
However, if adventure is on the cards, the beaches of Mont Choisy and Trou Aux Biches are within walking distance. Expect and expanse of white sands, and turquoise waters accentuated by stunning sunsets at the end of the day.
Guests can also head to a nearby botanical garden, fondly called the Pamplemousse Garden, where 37 hectares of lush fauna create a paradise within a paradise. Of course island life is not complete without a diving excursion or a day spent on a catamaran, and here are plenty in the area to choose from.
