Swap your yoga mat for a board – it’s fun!
This workshop will help you take your favorite yoga routines & put them on the water!
Both yoga & stand up paddle boarding (SUP) are great for building better balance, coordination, endurance and strength.
The class will begin on shore to go over the basic fundamentals of SUP; water safety, board anatomy, proper paddle positioning, stroke technique, launching, & progressions to getting up.
After this introduction, we will start to paddle out for a warm up and then anchor our boards and go through a yoga flow of breathing, meditation, standing postures (with modifications), sun salutations, lower board poses and ending off in shavasana (relaxed corpse pose).
WHAT DO I WEAR?
Wear a comfortable bathing suit that supports you while practicing SUP yoga. Other options are swim shirts, shorts or your yoga outfit.
Sunglasses may be worn if they have a cord attached.
WHAT DO I BRING?
Please be sure to bring a full water bottle and *eco/reef-friendly* sunscreen.
Please limit the valuables you bring with you to the class.
All levels are welcome. You should feel comfortable in open water & be able to tread water.
