The World Club 10s are back for another rugby tournament between the 15th and 17th of June, at Gros Cailloux. This 2018 Edition, organized by Carinat Sports Marketing will mark the tournament’s 3rd consecutive year in Mauritius, featuring some of the best teams in the world from the North and South Hemisphere. Get your One-Day or Three-Day Ticket or you can also choose between the VIP Package and the Club 10 Package for a more wholesome experience, but hurry- places are limited.
A great opportunity for fans to see some of the powerhouse names in world rugby.
The only annual Club rugby tournament in the World which has northern hemisphere vs south hemisphere Clubs has in recent years hosted many famous rugby stars, however, 2018 will see some of the biggest names in the World of rugby arriving for the Beachcomber World Club 10s.
Several champions who have shone at the highest level will be on the field of Gros Cailloux for what promises to be the most competitive Tournament in its 4-year history.
Two-time Rugby World Cup champion for the fearsome All Blacks, Conrad Smith who played a record of 94 times with his national team. This incredible longevity at the highest level allowed him to win two World Cups with the All Blacks, in 2001 and 2015.
Smith has been announced as a member of the Tsunami Pyrenees, who will also have Julien Pierre as part of their Management team.
Conrad sent a message to his fans in Mauritius;-
‘I am all set for the Beachcomber World Club 10s in Mauritius and I look forward to the support of all Rugby fans’.
Kobelco Steelers will also have Wallaby Legend, Adam Ashley-Cooper in their Squad alongside their Captain and All Black, Andy Ellis.
Ashley-Cooper is nicknamed 'Mr Versatile' for his incredible ability to adapt to many different posts.
One of the most capped Players of All-time, he played 116 times for the Australian national team jersey.
He will, without doubt, be a serious threat during the Beachcomber World Club 10s tournament.
The last time these 2 legends lined up against each other if was the RUGBY WORLD CUP Final in 2015 at Twickenham.
The African Pacific Dragons have unveiled several high-profile signings for 2018.
The Sevens Legend, DJ Forbes, who captained All Blacks 7's, the national team of rugby sevens New Zealand for over. He notably won several World Series tournaments at the end of the 80s. His experience could be a formidable weapon for the Africa Pacific Dragons during the tournament.
DJ said: “Can’t wait to get across to the Beachcomber 10s, there’s a lot of talk about the growth of the Tournament and what a great atmosphere. Hope to give the local rugby fans something to cheer about.”
Equally dangerous, Cornal Hendricks has the distinction of having played both in the South African national rugby 15 (the Springboks) and rugby 7 teams (the Blitzbokkes). Now playing with the Africa Pacific Dragons, Hendricks will certainly be a great asset for his team.
Also joining the Africa Pacific Dragons is Tongan powerhouse, Taufa’ao Filise, fresh from the Cardiff Blues European Challenge Cup victory.
The Beachcomber World Club 10s has moved to Gros Cailloux, just by Bambous, and will ensure that all fans will not only have the chance to watch and meet the greatest gathering of rugby talent assembled in the Region but a fantastic family day out with food stalls and kids zones.
